In the end one's carbon negative and the other is fairly clean depending on fugitive emissions and field CO2 levels. But if early focus is displacing very dirty SMR from the same gas source then it all contributes significantly to decarbonisation.
So we're on winners all the way through. Doesn't matter what's used broadly speaking. May affect carbon credits depending on various criteria, but we're so far ahead of the nearest clean or green hydrogen competition cost wise, it doesn't really matter.
