Hazer Group is an ASX-listed company developing an innovative Australian developed clean technology to produce hydrogen and graphite with low carbon emissions for the emerging global clean hydrogen market.

This position will report directly to the CFO, will have the responsibility for all accounting, assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with the development and then ongoing management and reporting against G&A budgets, related accounting and cost allocations and cost recovery to and from Hazer Group projects and subsidiaries.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Performance of Hazer Group accounting, including but not limited to:
- Delivering management accounts including business cost centre cash forecasting and partnering with budget owners to ensure effective cost stewardship;
- Providing variance analysis with explanations of budget v/s actual performance;
- Working with Hazer Group’s CFO to manage the accounting of costs associated with the Hazer Group’s projects and associated companies and optimising the allocation and charging thereof, compliant with the relevant GST and income tax legislation;
- Producing the monthly financial reporting suite and help facilitate the monthly performance reviews with the Hazer Group Executive Team;
- Preparing capital and operating expenditure cash budgets and forecasts (including G&A);
- Enhancing the cost control practices in Hazer Group to foster a culture of prudent frugality cost management, using thewhy?, why now?, best price?concept;
- Performing the accounts payable related transactions for Hazer Group;
- Preparation of project variations and maintenance of variation register;
- Providing high quality analytical support to inform business decisions;
- Administering scalable DOA's and ensuring compliance with Hazer Group’s Purchasing and Procurement policies;
- Preparing monthly GST filings for Hazer Australia and Hazer Canada;
- Preparing weekly project dashboards, timesheet summary and evidence to support charging to and cost recovery from the client;
- Supervising the Procurement Officer and providing guidance as and when required;
- Reviewing and approving Purchase Orders to ensure spend is within budget/forecast;
- Reviewing subcontractor agreements clauses, T&Cs including risk assessment prior to sharing with the project team;
- First point of contact for budget and cash forecast queries from the entire business;
- Providing back up and support to the Senior Financial Accountant to cover leave and other absences;
- Adhoc duties as and when required.
Skills & Experience:
- Qualified CA/CPA/CIMA who is fully conversant with Australian IFRS and other Accounting Standards, and relevant Australian GST, payroll and income tax legislation;
- Value focused financial professional with significant hands-on experience with performing high quality accounting, developing expenditure budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting to enable business outcomes. Strong attention to detail with advanced Excel and Word skills;
- Extensive management accounting experience working in a multi-project group environment, developed in a business partnering role; and
- ASX-listed company experience preferred.
