Those were always my concerns since the announcement that (an unnamed) Chinese manufacturer was chosen. Given the poor consistency of steel quality currently being received from China (that we use daily in my business), the explanation provided by Hazer is plausible. Whether the fault was deliberate or not is something we'll probably never know.
