CSRIO is a good technology for transporting hydrogen. It makes hydrogen from ammonia, but ammonia requires hydrogen for its original production.
Hydrogen produced for ammonia comes from Stream Reformation using natural gas, which has a huge CO2 emission (currently Steam reformation produces 95% of worlds hydrogen).
But Hydrogen's barrier to clean energy market has always been clean Hydrogen production, which CSIRO's method does not solve, as the original hydrogen is produced from Steam reformation.
Hazer is a carbon free method similar to Steam Reformation in that it uses natural gas, but without the CO2 emmission.
The same goes for electrolysis, but this is very expensive and requires 6 x more energy than Hazer.
