The hydrogen is the catalyst for the reduction of co2 emission..
The co2 is mixed with hydrogen in a pressure vessel situation similar to hazer, then methanol is produced.. no hydrogen no methanol and co2 is emitted..
So natural gas is used in the hazer process, producing hydrogen and carbon (which can be added to the steel) and then the hydrogen is added to the co2 to make methanol.
Near zero emission steel production. Win win win.
