He's not deliberately misleading anyone, he simply doesn't know what earnings means.
I will bet that because we 'earn' money that he thinks earnings is the same as wages i.e before anything is taken out.
Harb's try and do a better Google search than your pal Uncle Ho, google search 'is there a difference between earnings and gross profit'.
in fact, better check, do you know what profit is and what the difference between gross profit and net profit is?
