No, you are quite wrong. All investors invest (by definition), otherwise they are doing something else.
From reading your posts, I guess English is not your first language, and I now assume that your Medieval Italian is no better. The financial meaning of invest entered English from the Italian, investire, which had been used since the 14th century with the meaning “to commit money in order to earn a financial return”.
