this is a case of a UBS client buying stock on market. This is a good thing not a bad thing.
Large brokers like UBS run prime broking and custodial operations for insto clients. Stock held can be lent out to other clients that might want to short it. They can also borrow it from other brokers for their clients to use.
They also do execution only for many other instos and those positions are held elsewhere. Agree with Danny, re shorting micro caps that can go 10x.
