Probably RC collars with diamond tails. The RC is for the bit that is not expected to have anything interesting in it. The holes would be designed weeks before they are drilled so they didnt have the same feel for size.

RC does hundreds of metres in a day and is logged at the rig so can be sent off quickly, it also costs a lot less because it is so fast. The diamond rig comes behind it and does maybe 80-100m per day in good ground. The assays can only be taken for a complete 2m or even 6m run though and you only get to see the chips so dont get a feel for the true lithology.

The core has to be logged in a shed and then cut before it can be sent off so is a lot slower. And many times more expensive. But you can see the actual rock with the exact distances, angles of veins, joints, faults, etc... and how they cluster, what the alteration looks like and what sort of rock quality it is - much better picture. Once the diamond results come back we'll start seeing odd numbers and even decimals in the interval lengths. I havent checked, but pretty much everything up to now will have been in even lengths - 2, 4, 6m, etc...
