These results are very misleading in my opinion. The headline recoveries, circa 92% are including gold recovery from CIL on a 0.1 g/t flotation tail stream. I have never seen commercially a CIL circuit operating on <0.1 g/t gold, let alone a 0.07 g/t gold head because it is simply not economic, even if the head is delivered free of charge and already milled. The power input, lime input, cyanide input, labor, capital amortisation etc do not support 0.1 g/t gold head even at $2500 AUD/oz.
For example, Oz Minerals Prominent Hill discharge a 0.2 g/t gold in their milled tailings and that is IOCG so the gold is free milling. If 0.07 g/t gold CIL was in any way economic, would Oz Minerals not be targeting their tails for gold recovery??
If you take away the Tail x CIL, gold recovery averages 85% in Flotation-POx. They achieved 95% gold recovery with the Albion Process in the first round of testwork. I would prefer to see De Grey give Albion a better crack at their ore, it is Australian technology and this is a class 1 global gold discovery right here in Australia.
