Like I said, they may have been able to do it by simply choosing to repurpose BTM.
But from what I can see they made a choice to use this device to develop a new product with a new technology that will ultimately be far superior and deliver a far more differentiated product.
Given their R&D team was able to achieve this much earlier than it seems was expected, is your preference for them to shelve it for a few years?
My preference is for them to spend a bit more time to enter the market with a vastly superior device.
A device that is likely to require just one surgery rather than two to remove that film is going to be much much easier to sell.
This is like the marshmellow test. You can have one marshmellow now or wait two years and have probably 3 to 5 times more because the device will be that much more compelling.
This also lets you prove up another core platform technology for other devices.
I understand why some short term focused people will be unhappy but as a patient investor who is surprised with this new technology, I am thrilled.
Why don't you tell me how much you think this new technology is worth?
