My understanding is that the Macintosh graphite is very low in impurities. This is why it can be easily processed to 5N quality and this is why HXG have pursued the downstream processing option. The graphite from Macintosh is highly desirable material to value add in the down stream processing. This is one of the reasons that MIN have come on board as 51% owners of the Macintosh deposit.
I am not sure, but can any one tell me if the demand for such high quality graphite has disappeared or the price gone down for this high quality material, to a point that MIN would not be interested and for them to let go of their 51% interest.
We went through 18 months of testing to establish that our graphite material is some of the highest quality in the world, why would it now suddenly be worth the same as any other old bit of graphite?
