The 4DS pissing into the wind scenario is an interesting one & I tend to agree it's probably unlikely management would have got away with pissing into the wind when presenting their PL4 optimization strategy to HGST. However, it's the sudden and unexpected change in wind direction (in the form of test results that are something less than great) that seems to create the unpleasant predicament of unintentionally pissing into the wind.

There was a bit of commentary about Silicon Valley in a recent TV program on the SBS titled "The Billionaires Who Made our World"...

"Silicon Valley is a place of dreams where most of those dreams don't work out".

It remains to be seen whether or not 4DS becomes one of those Silicon Valley tech dreams where things do work out well (to some degree), or alternatively, consigned to tech oblivion.
