WD will have their agreements in an automated system that provides a reminder ahead of time that the agreement needs to be renewed. There's probably a regular scheduled meeting where every JDA that is due to be renewed is checked for relevance.
This JDA costs WD nothing to maintain and they would have to have rocks in their head to pass on the renewal tbh. If the IMEC development fails, WD lose nothing.
