There are only two reasons 4DS would not renew the JDA:
HGST decides they don't want to (yikes)
4DS have something far, far more compelling to announce which means they don't need the JDA anymore.
In the absence of new significantly material information to throw to investors, not renewing the JDA would be a disaster for the company. This JDA is an endorsement of the technology and the work completed to date by a major player in the memory manufacturing space.
Either party can still end the agreement with 4 weeks written notice.
This renewal is an administrative task for WD.
