I just had a horrible thought...... They'd better be using a high quality drill for drilling this well. I once bought a Chinese drill bit. The damned thing untwisted itself drilling one sheet metal hole and no, it wasn't titanium sheet metal either. The hole wasn't even circular! Now call me sceptical, but I'm damn well sure that such poor quality drills would have a snowball's chance in hell of drilling a 12,500 foot deep hole in Alaska.
This is not the actual drill, but a good example of what happened.
