It was actually 7.95% copper (not the 6.95% I wrongly stated) plus 55g/tonne Silver (which is a hefty addition even at the current low of $650,000/tonne)
Considering that vein was one left behind, I can only imagine what the virgin mineralisation was like that fed the 50 tonnes of ore at 16% Cu and 336 g/tonne Silver that was shipped from one prospect 100 years ago.
