In my listening to the subject matter experts:

• Aluminium - still prone to fire in certain domestic wiring: hence no real meaningful replacement threat. Also, space restrictions especially in buildings.
• Where weight is an issue i.e. power lines (in the air) - Aluminium wins, space is not a constraint
• Cars: too bulky to replace copper
• Underground wiring: not good / not suitable

Short story - Aluminium is a potential replacement where space and size constraints aren't a barrier / also lighter weight. Not going to eat away at any meaningful amount of copper demand.
