Assuming the saprolitic profile (Lower sap and Upper saprolite, then sap rock) ranges from 40-80m (as is typical of the goldfields) and they can find where the sub vertical lodes intersect on surface - the Tribune lodes will be free dig to that depth. Then drill and blast will begin, followed years later by underground.
It'd not that complicated, it all depends on the depth of weathering.
