With 200+ old workings in CAI's tenements there has to be a lot of gold left on the surface in overburden and tailings. The old guys didn't bother with anything much under half an ounce a tonne as they didn't have a way to easily recover it. Sure the nuggets are long gone, but I would like to bet that a lot of fine gold is just sitting waiting to go through a modern mill which can extract it. Each heap of tailings on its own isn't worth the trouble but combine them and there is probably many thousands of ounces already mined just waiting to be processed. Does anyone know if CAI has looked at this?
