    Just had a look at the Bureau of Meteorology site and the average rainfall for Charters Towers is 660mm per year...just a little over half of Sydney's rainfall.

    As well, the rainfall for December to March inclusive is surprisingly similar to Sydney...around 450mm.

    The rest of the year, only around 200mm.
