Sampling has outlined a new open polymetallic system that is more than double the size of the previous mineralised footprint at Revolver’s Dianne project in Queensland.
Continuous surface channel sampling returned three new zones of high-grade gold mineralisation grading up to 12.2 grams per tonne (g/t) and broad intervals of oxide copper in surface outcrops that expanded the geochemical footprint by 270m to 500m.
The footprint remains open to the north-northwest and south-southeast, offering the potential to further expand the known mineralisation.
Revolver Resources (ASX:RRR) said the sampling assays complemented results from recent diamond drilling that had returned an outstanding 6.95m intercept containing more than 90% sulphides, as well as 96.01m of mineralisation hosting up to 5% copper minerals and a 5.08m massive chalcocite-pyrite zone pending assay where a visual estimate came in at more than 40% copper minerals.
“Dianne is emerging as a potentially high-grade multi-mineral new discovery. These assays indicate much higher grades and higher volumes of copper, zinc, cobalt and gold than we had previously thought existed within the project,” managing director Pat Williams said.
“The highly encouraging and exciting results reveal a far more extensive mineralised and multiple commodity system than has been previously understood.
“Put into context, the assay results we have from these samples – which were obtained only from surface – highlight ore grades greater than the average grade of some mines operating today.”
Williams added that the results validate the company’s exploration methodology, opening up multiple parallel work fronts to bring forward further critical information about the full potential of the Dianne project.
    Dianne Project

The Dianne project includes the historical Dianne copper mine that produced 63,758t of copper at an average grade of 22.7% from open cut and underground operations between 1979 and 1983.
It is located about 260km northwest of Cairns and is covered by six active mining leases and an exploration permit.
    Upcoming activity

Revolver noted that the results outline probable undrilled extensions to the Green Hill mineralisation to the north, south and west of the known deposit.
As such, it has prioritised a number of these new outcropping copper and zinc targets for drill testing during the current drill program.
The company also plans to follow-up on a recent induced polarisation survey that identified strong resistivity and moderate chargeability anomalies underlying the silicified zone at the Silica Ridge prospect.
Further mapping and channel sampling in the near-mine region is expected to be carried out in the second quarter with a focus on defining extensions of the Dianne deposit and to identify potential additional copper targets.
