Having held shares in RVR for some years in the hope of getting the Hillgrove mine back into profitable production but just seeing the company dragged down by the Thalanga operation, I finally gave up and sold out of Red River.
I'm very pleased to have been able to again get a stake in the Hillgrove mine through LRV. The gold alone is probably worth way more than the company's MC, and the plant (on C + M) is also probably worth way more than the MC. But what really fires up my interest in Hillgrove is the antimony or stibnite. There is a huge demand for antimony and very little production outside the two main producers China and Tajikistan.
At around 9 cents, this stock provides a much cheaper entry point to Hillgrove than we were able to achieve for many years with RVR, and it's now under the management of a company which I believe will make the most of both the gold and the antimony, and get that processing plant back into operation.
This is a strong Buy for me.
