You could should release the results, and still have independent experts review them and come up with a strategy going forward. Poor form to sit on material news like this, it just invites speculation and the market does not like uncertainty. What they've done is create a situation where the gold results are over-shadowed by disappointment at a lack of clarity on the nickel.
