A quick guide to aid interpretation of kaolin drilling results.
Brightness is the first key criteria - anything below ISO B of 70 is just waste
Anything between 70 and 75 is questionable
Anything over 75 is potentially economic - subject to other factors
Fe2O3 needs to be a max of 0.6wt% for virtually any applications
Halloysite of 10% is the minimum for ceramics but then it also needs very low Fe2O3 and TiO2 amongst other things
Any kaolin without sig halloysite in this part of the world is uneconomic unless very special ultra-high purity - ref ADN announcements on the subject.
High halloysite content would need to be 30% +
Anything with Fe2O3 over a few % would need to be 90% + as per small deposits in Poland and Turkey
You can take or leave this advice and make your own decisions but be assured that it is genuine and intended to help any investors see past the smoke and mirrors.
