Blankets Vs Snakes/Worms of mineralisation.
WA1's Luni vs ENR ??
Real? If yes then why?
Results, to date, show this is the nature of ENR discoveries vs Luni. Emily may be a throw rug or a large anaconda but Green and Crean, to date, have limited NS extent but reasonable "EW" strike extent.
Blankets
Basically a random section from Luni. Added some schematic data since 11/9/23 or so announcement.
Other than the thickening at the southern end of this section it is fairly typical of the broad NS blanket at Luni. [Subjective with more research needed.]
Section location ~ black line
Only one section for Emily which reflects the above wider NS higher grade blanket. Open to the south onto WA1 ground where no drilling has been done yet IMO.
===================
Snakes/Worms of blankets with very restricted NS dimension and extensive EW one.
Crean.
NS less than 150m max and EW dimensions to be more fully defined. Vertical thickness locally around 40-50m.
Some early aircore drilling was interpreted. The lack of results after such a long period suggest results may not be above 0.2% Nb2O5 reporting levels. Bit surprising given the assays from hole 7.and a lesser extent #18.
Green
Wide spaced lines with fairly detailed hole spacing constraining the "NS" dimension which peaks in the NE of this image at what may locally equal zones in Luni.
Magnetics provide some correlation with what are assay based shapes 1-5.
Grade and perhaps carbonatite decrease/stop? to the east of here at Green. Some assays remain to be reported for east Green and all for the spatially separated Joyce further east.
The higher grade assay patterns at Crean and Green differ although both are narrow linear zones.
Crean is probably a thin fault controlled carbonatite intrusive dyke along the Elephant Island Fault or a splay thereof. Grade variation hints at a more Nb rich phase at the western end and/or some special enriching weathering processes. Many other possibilities.
The wide zone intersected in hole #7 shows there can be some surprises here and to the east at Hurley at least for Carbonatite size if not grade. The dyke intersected deep in hole #1 shows further potential irregular carbonatite along the fault trend.
Green
The early interpretation is of two irregular sub parallel zones with elevated grade. Separated by low grade ?carbonatite and/or country rock. The proximity to eastern Luni raises the possibility that Green is somehow connected to Luni but lacks the semi continuous NS blanket. A couple of lines of aircore could easily resolve this but that's not going to happen anytime soon on the WA1 ground this year IMO. Will at some point to see what happens to the high grade encountered in LURC23 105 & 107 which may reflect Green style zones.
Does the Luni intrusive extend NE into Green as a couple of dykes separated by barren country rock. Or as a differentiated intrusive with higher grade Nb zones that has weathered to produce snakes/worms?
Some evidence is available to ENR in the form of rock chips from aircore and PXRF data which can help lithogeochemical distinction of lithologies.
The strong Gravity anomaly for Luni does imply Luni is different - probably a special case that is likely a one off but has spawned some dykes as marginal smaller occurrences with different geophysical characteristics. The latter gives some hope that there may be other reasonable deposits in the area though they are not going to be easy to find. P2/Crean/Hurley/Hoschke are indicators.
===================.
No obvious RC follow up or site prep over the last 5 days of Sentinel imagery.
Did look around old A/C RC sites to see if something done other than Green/Emily/or Crean which were the most likely.
The northern end of McIlroy's first A/C traverse caught my attention. Drilling in the north was wide spaced except at the far north end of the line where it was closed down to 80m. I missed this at the time.
Further there were another 5 "fences" drilled to the east suggesting something of interest may have been encountered.
