to get more accurate scoping study one needs indicated resource for part of the resource. the more indicated resource the higher the confidence in the scoping study.
If the company uses part of the inferred resource in the scoping study the JORC code requires the company to state that they used inferred resource and to state how much. The reason is obvious why the JORC code will put such requirement.
There is no need to drill all resource to inferred category. Imagine if this reef is 1km deep, it will take years to drill it out. What POD needs to do is find couple of spots (I think they are doing that) with decent grades and drill them to indicated category down to around 250m and inferred category from 250 to around 350m. This way POD will have enough indicated and inferred resource to combine for scoping study. The plus is, indicated resource will be big enough to instill confidence in the scoping study and proceed to PFS.
At same time they can drill small portion (the shallowest parts of the starter pits) to measured category and do DFS.
Drilling below 350 without going into production will be burning cash. Yes, drill few more deep holes just to attract higher interest from instos as few more 500m holes will surely get the attention of bigger investors but no need to go wild. Another 3-5 500m holes in addition to the 3 we already have should do the trick as long as all hit the target.
Idea is not to issue too many shares before going into production.
