Yes particularly as we have been genuine supporters, incl some of us like @HomeBrand with the recent entitlement offer. I discovered that I received 100% of my application for 2 of my 3 accounts (3rd couldn't participate) and I asked for multiples of my entitlement. Sure I could have bought them for same or less in the market but I wanted the money to go to the company. Having a well supported rights issue is important. I did sell a few ahead of the allocation announcement at 24c as I am already well over my normal risk limits for this kind of situation.
Not sure how receptive they would be to an approach though. Having worked on the corporate/capital markets side of the fence, non-institutional holders are difficult to interact with - unpredictable, lacking in trust in handling discussions confidentially. Don't see any institutions on board yet - too early (although you could have said the same about CHN which I held from $1 to c.$9 for a sizeable profit).
Canaccord insiders should know how to play this. Head of Corporate Finance (Chesapeake), former Head of Research (Cathy Moises), Chairman of Canaccord Australia. Plus Rodney Baxter as former CEO of Consolidated Mines Ltd. They're fairly disinterested in developing a shareholder base at this stage, it seems.
Part of the problem is that the share price ran too hard early last year - it was never going to last and then put many latecomers offside.
Hoping their IR person reviews the discussions here from time to time. Despite the usual mix of informed and uninformed comments and banter, when you filter out the noise, I have noticed in most of my core stocks that there is always a hard core of genuine, well informed shareholders. Hopefully, POD will pick this up.
