I think a lot of people buy with FOMO on a good announcement, this can't happen when there looks like there is more than enough for everyone at prices that have been around for a very long time.
Rightly or wrongly I think a lot of retail investors see something moving quickly after a good announcement and jump right in there without much (if any) research at all.
