They are thin intercepts yes, but they intercepted something. Can't really comment on open pit suitability as I don't know enough about pit design but I don't see it being outside the realms of possibility. Its worth considering these results are from the far southern edge of Orient West. Consider the results from VTEM - these drillholes occur pretty well in the centre between two NE-SW trending VTEM anomalies...
From the VTEM announcement... "The plan was to move the drill rig from the Orient East JORC Infill drilling program onto testing theVTEM anomalies. Due to the volume of anomalies generated at Orient, the modelling process will takesignificantly longer than expected, so we are pausing the Orient drilling program on completion of theOrient East JORC Infill drilling, and once modelling has been completed, the targets ranked and drillaccess in place, we will re-start the drilling program to test the Orient anomalies. It is expected thatdrilling to test the modelled VTEM targets will commence in mid to late July"
In the video with Shae Russel shared the other day, Don states that the drill rig is parked up at the project awaiting the go ahead from ILT to come back and drill those anomalies once modeled by Mitre Geoscience. Before anyone puts too much weight on the width of the intercepts in this announcement, it should be considered that they come from an area not identified of being of interest by the VTEM...my interpretation is that this is the southern outer margin of the high grade zone cluster they have been drilling.
VTEM Model will also show up (hopefully) the depth of the anomalies also. This is the thing I am keen to see..
