    It depends on what/how exactly you want to use the DEM files? Is it just to view the raw DEM, creating hillshades, rescaling for mapping or analysis etc?
    The TIF files open no problems in QGis.

    If you don’t use any GIS specific software, then you can still open the TIF files directly into GoogleEarthPro. But if you are doing that then I would recommend downloading the hillshade not the DEM – the raw DEM isn’t overly insightful without the ability to modify/filter etc.

    You can always just view the LiDAR data (as a hillshade render) in the online data platform where you downloaded it from as well:

    The slightly older aerial photo from the NovaScotia data portal shows an interesting looking area just east of the boulders....looks suspiciously like pegmatite outcrop/subcrop. its the area where the LiDAR hillshade shows the dead-end track near the EL:55310 label.
