You don't need to look any further than RAU's recent metallurgy and indicative flow sheet. Essentially they've already done up a draft flow sheet with a non-traditional Titanium route by looks of it. Question is indeed whether it is economical. The flow sheet looks somewhat capex heavy compared to at least the REE only plays, heating also increases OPEX, question is what purity they can get from any of the filtration stages and indeed costs. I don't pretend to have an answer as it is a much more complicated route than the pure ionic plays.
