If I contact management it is usually to get a better understanding of the business. It is one of the few advantages being a shareholder in a small company that the CEO often is available to take an investor relations call.
@ozblue has had a few bad experiences... me too. But it's an over-reaction to generalize. I have been lied to by managements. My response has been to develop my own capacity for discrimination. The number one thing I have learned is it is not only a business idea or project that you are buying into, rather the people who are running things is what you are investing in.
@Aurelius79 mentioned a poster on another stock (CHK) earlier who had posted good sense. I missed those posts at the time but read through them this evening. The geology of that prospect is a lot simpler than what SGQ is exploring at Mt Alexander.... I really doubt anyone could come along and be able to assess the chances as easily.
For a few years now I have inserted in the space below my posts a summation of what I believe is something sorely missing in our society... trust. It takes courage to try to be ethical because it requires a person face their own fears squarely. It also takes courage to trust. If I meet a person who I believe is striving to be ethical I will reciprocate and I will trust. If they let me down I will accept it as a mistake, as a normal human failing... in just the same way I hope they will treat me if I let them down.
On the other hand, if I meet a person and I form the opinion they are not ethical I don't condemn them for it. What I understand and accept is they are not courageous and are a victim of their own fear. They act without ethics because they are driven by their fear. I don't hold it against them... but... I do walk away.
I currently hold a few positions in various companies. In each case I have respect for the management. SGQ is one of those companies.
