Considering past performance by either political party it is difficult to foresee value for money and a significant benifit to Australia with this critical minerals and manufacturing in Australia policy. The NDIS for example offered a significant pot of money to private entiprise and is currently being routed to between 17 and 20 billion dollars whilst creating multi millionaire's with money supposed to support the disability sector. The commonwealth employment service was privatised and again has created multimillionaire,s from those tasked with finding employment opportunities. In addition Productivity in this country is an absolute disgigrace very few Australians want to work in manufacturing and if they do enormous wages are expected for minimum skill levels. Australias one great efficiency is mining in many cases foreign owned with raw materials dug up and shiped overseas for value adding and manufacturing with bugger all tax revenue to australia. Our gas prices should be the lowest in the world yet we are amongst the highest an absolute discouragement to manufacturing. Australia mussed the boat 20 years ago shut down manufacturing for a dig it up ship it out mentality. So with our poor productively, high wages, sense of entitlement, and generaly poor attitude to blue collar workers becoming a green energy manufacturing powehouse seems unlikely and very very difficult to forsee.
