Much harder to liberate from hard rock hence why you see companies like ARU (hard rock) with CAPEX 1-1.5billion and IXR's (ionic clay) CAPEX <200million. @kanetoad I have oversimplified it yes but CAPEX for ionic clay is typically less, doesn't matter that they have to process many more tonnes. Although, strip ratio does become much more important in Clays because of this. I am unfamiliar with VML but from my understanding that is a small operation compared to the ones I mentioned. Happy to be corrected.
I am more interested in the occurrence carbonatite with potential to host niobium like WA1. Would be a bonus on top of those sexy copper cores and high grade graphite.
