Patience. Don't set your mind on anything. I remain neutral till I see the announcment. That way I'm not let down if average and can be surprised if good.
I've been doing this over 30 years and I've learnt over that time patience is key to making money. Impatience for a result shows patience has not be achieved completely.
I often sit on stocks for years to get my gains. The key is homework. Do it well enough and you are guaranteed gain.
