    No I don't That may be the case, but I very much doubt there will be that many super funds holding STX. As much as we like to think STX has a bright future (and it does), I very much doubt it will appeal to any large funds in its current state. They have may bought it as part of ASX200 but may hold some as part of ASX300, but the volume won't be anywhere near the 300mn shares short sold.

    Once STX has multiple revenue sources and has substantial positive cashflow (ie. significantly derisked), then we may see more large funds buying it.

    Margin accounts - no idea. My shares are held within a ML even though I don't actually use any margin. I'd checked before and there is nothing in my T&Cs which allows BT (now Westpac) to lend out my shares. I'd be surprised if any ML firm can loan their client's shares out because technically, the shares aren't theirs and should be held in a trust. But that's just my guess.

    Either way, you may well be right and the short position doesn't change post index funds exit. If that's the case, then at some point, there will be one giant short covering happening
