I reckon existing holders have dodged a bullet here.

Anyone able to explain how a private equity enterprise extracts additional profit out of this.

It's a pretty simple business. You're either selling practitioners hours or you are not. Once those hours are sold that's the end of you so you can only squeeze so much from the lemon. Are we to assume there is an abundance of excess capacity that they can suddenly fill?
