I'm getting tempted to buy into this at this point.
Everyone's in here talking about recession fears & impact of higher interest rates, but ignoring the fact that we're basically existing in a two-speed economy where young people + mortgage payers are the ones getting hammered, while the Boomers (who are typically the main demo who use travel agents) are benefitting & spending like there's no tomorrow.
The ABS data released this week also showed that travel was the only major sector that spiked & was higher than anticipated, as people have cut back on buying household items/furniture etc like during the pandemic, and instead swung the other way to spend their remaining discretionary income on travel experiences. Financials of HLO also look far better than most other travel stocks on the ASX atm.
I'll likely hold off a little longer to see if it keeps falling a bit, but this massive sell-off looks a bit bizarre to me at this point.
