Its just my opinion based on an aspect that was looked at during DD on a company I worked for. You want the shareprice to be stable and as high as possible. Slightly different set of circumstances (was to do with financing), but it was looked at. They usually leave no stone unturned.
Only alternative reason for the sort of fluff announcement is there is a raise on the way, which I don't think will happen with Glencore doing the DD... unless they flag the current cash it as a serious risk during the DD.
Its just my opinion based on an aspect that was looked at during...
