the best time to reinvest earnings for long term high growth is when the market is tough like it is now and they are looking at returns over 5-10 years not the shorter period of next years earnings but yeah, wouldn’t be surprised if they crank up the payout ratio soon.
don’t forget, these one off payments and COVID special rules haven’t made people smarter with money so at some point those who are making unwise choices will end at the same destination they were always going to.
