    Pump and dump? More like buying on the belief of another announcement then selling because it wasn't. Probably still thought it worthwhile at the high. Might also explain the resistance at the current price and reticence to sell short. $1-40 again? Possibly if there is no progress, but still a bit of a wait. Very volatile.
