In light of all the new information perhaps it’s a good time to look at things with a slightly different lens

Horse Well and Oak Dam West - gravity and Total Magnetic Intensity (LP800 VRTP Tilt)

Note this is the same TMI setting that orefox used in its work for oz minerals where it was searching for meaningful targets in the Mount Woods project area where it stated:

“It is possible that the NE magnetic highs visible in the SA_TMI_LP800_VRTP_TILT are remnants of a NW trending magnetic ridge that has been cross-cut with a faulting structure; allowing strong alteration to occur resulting in magnetite destruction, with the possibility that the low magnetic zones are the fault structures. (Fig. 21)”

As most here are aware the gravity anomaly associated with Oak Dam West does enter the bottom corner of CHK’s tenement at 5970. Many believe this corner holds some potential for CHK and the recent drilling update probably only strengthens this theory. However there is debate on the relative importance of this fact so I think it is worth having a look elsewhere for possible supporting evidence.

    Prominent Hill

There are many good articles around looking at discoveries at Olympic Dam, Prominent Hill, and other IOGC discoveries in the Gawler Craton. This one caught my eye for a few reasons but the one I think is worth mentioning in this context is DP005 which can be found on the edge of the gravity anomaly (bottom right).

    This hole had a significant down-hole intercept of 209m @ 1.54% Cu & 0.93g/t Au (DP005)

The information presented on both drill holes by CHK to date provides a lot of interesting clues. CHK look to be feeding this back into their models as is evidenced by their identification of a future drilling target. The current drill hole looks to be showing enough promise to hopefully be drilled a lot further down (possibly reaching TD by the end of this weekend), and with 2 more interesting locations to follow and BHPs results from their latest round of drilling coming soon there could well be a few more twists and turns in this story yet.
