Nice find. It's not often (ever?) that High Peak graces the pages of the AFR, and in an exclusive, no less!
The model sounds sensible but it's not an area I'd claim to have much knowledge about. The surprise for me is the obvious number of landfill sites in Australia that have not yet been tapped for their gas potential. Even in sleepy Christchurch that resource has been harnessed for many years as a means to heat public pools and the like.
