RV is still niche. The penetration rate has decreased over the past 10 years from 6% of population aged above 55 to 4.5%.

It is a hugely underloved and under funded industry. But all of a sudden since Aged Care Royal Commission people started looking at it again.

It still has got a long way to go and needs all the ducks in the line to get things moving.

For HSC to sell into this industry, one difficulty is the village operators can’t force the residents to buy these and when things go wrong such as the device is not working or residents fell and got injured regardless if it’s the device related, the residents and their families always blame the village operators. But remember, RV is independent living and these devices and monitoring are provided by third parties such as HSC and the village operators take no responsibility for any of these.

When they got a few difficult residents and bad experiences with them complaining about these devices, they would say no to companies such as HSC.
