Plenty of companies do this. That's why Radium have a business. It's no different to factoring receivables. Been standard business practice for...decades.
Perhaps you'd rather they didn't have the money? It's not ideal, but at least they get the money now to invest in R&D/commercialization initiatives which presumably will have a positive commercial outcome in the form of revenue.
Harvest will survive. The lights won't go out. The technology and products are evolving, they have a deep (qualified) $22M pipeline, partnerships are expanding, costs are decreasing, revenues are increasing.
There are many reasons why Harvest is in a hole. Equally, there are many reasons to be optimistic that they are digging themselves out.
Reasons to be Positive: (Not an Exhaustive List)
5Eyes: Significant 5Eyes Defence Customer. 1st project tender win. 2nd order expected to be received early Q2 FY2024
US Defence and Govt Customer embeds NSI in multiple Maritime Surveillance Buoys = US Coastguard?
Leading EU Defence Force = NATO (All leading EU countries are NATO. Whatever is happening with Ukraine, they are NOT yet in the EU) Negotiating Implementation schedule to 300 land sea, air assets next 24 months.
Petronas Malaysia. Successful drone flight in Japan. Regulatory approval received for a full operational flight in the Gulf of Thailand in September
Boskalis Global Netherlands. Successful operational trial. In discussions for Phase 2 rollout. Potential 600 vessels/floating platforms.
Fugro. Expansion of 3-year partnership into Fugro Middle East USV Operations.
Global leader in delivery of offshore projects and services - wins two new projects, commence September. (Haven't been able to pin down who this is but have a fair idea.)
Project trial for a leading provider of subsea services headquartered in Norway - the big three are DEEPOCEAN, 7subsea or 4SubSea (wholly owned subsidiary of 7SS), or Norwegian Subsea.
I'm picking $1M or thereabouts as the revenue target this quarter. Collections are never linear. Don't care whether they collect it all in 1 day or in three months so long as they collect it.
Have a great weekend.
