"We are extremely pleased with the growth momentum..", sure, but we are extremely displeased with the share price performance.
That said, considering the lockdowns the numbers are ok. What seems pretty clear are:
1. ANZ customer numbers just won't be able to grow at double digits (unless Velocity related onboarding kicks in in a big way). Overseas journey still long ways away.
2. Q2 numbers will virtually certain be way better, due to lockdowns reopening, travel starting somewhat, and Christmas shopping. How the market will take it, I don't know.
3. A guess, today's sp movement just seems like nobody is confident in buying the stock at all. If out of asx300 means no insto can come in to lead an efficient revaluation, then it's all up to us retails to bring it back in? Doesn't sound fun. Looking at board/management to do something here. Maybe sell some of that huge stake to a bank or mastercards?
