It will be hard for the Board to recommend anything less than $2.50 given that was their estimate of fair value at the AGM. My suspicion is that because Crombo resigned as Chair, he has wrangled a deal to stay invested. As long as I get the same terms as him, I dont mind too much, but I will be as mad as Hell to be forcibly sold out at $1.00 while he stays in.
They should sell the Commercial leasing business to PE for $350m, distribute the proceeds of $0.86 per share to shareholders, and then we all stay in the BNPL which the market will then value as a pure play asset at 20x revenues.
