I am not an accountant so I'll leave a discussion on that to those so skilled, but perhaps the bounce upwards to A$0.87, an all-time high if I'm not mistaken, is due to optimism about the collapse of Scott's RF helping LAU with further consolidation of interstate road cartage (and rail freight on intermodal trains) plus at least a small increase in freight rates as contracts are slowly renegotiated.
On top of that, LAU may be able to imitate Linfox and be a 'bottom feeder', picking up some of the good former Scott's assets that LAU believes will be an accretive acquisition.
But yes, like plumbing supplies REH that not so long ago shot up to A$25 a share, at some stage LAU would be overvalued should its scrip continue with a bullish run.
