definition based on my software provider is below. but my understanding is that if you wanted to sell 10m BHP at $40 and Offer price was $39 but if someone buys your shares at $40 then it is active buy as basically the person jumped the queue and offered whatever price you were asking. The opposite is for Active sell so if your bid was $39 for BHP and i sell my shares at $39 to you then i am doing active selling as i didn't wait in the queue.
i am not sure how software do all this measurement and how accurate it is but that is what you see in below explanation.
